Alrighty! So this took me a bit to come up with. My comfort zone for my art is fanart in an anime art-style, but I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone but also keep the theme something that I enjoy. With these things in mind I have this idea to tell the story of how I became captivated by one of my favorite video game series.
The story goes that I was REALLY bad at reading and comprehension when I was in first grade. It was difficult for me to read at first (and write) and when I did manage to, I struggled to remember information that I was given. And knowing this my parents wanted to find a way for me to willingly practice reading and also make it fun.
OK so back then my dad used to play a game on our Wii called Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and my brother and I would sit with my dad and watch him play. I remember not knowing a whole lot about what was going on but I was still interested enough to start drawing the hero, Link and the princess Zelda. Anyway, the thing with this game is that you have to read dialogue to help you continue your journey. So yes, my parents would have me play this game and read aloud all of the dialogue. I bet they didn't think that I would fall in love with the story, finish the game 100%, dive into more lore of the series, use my own money to buy more games of the same series, draw more fanart, and become downright obsessed with the series. I think it's a story that is really unique to me and I have some REALLY rough visual ideas on how to show that.
[EDIT] I came up with a couple more thumbnail ideas but I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas for showing my interest in video games growing but I think i have some ideas for the first few illustrations .
