Brainstorm Blog #2

From what I’ve heard of the sounds I think the most simple approach is to guide the listener through a day-in-the-life. I honestly don’t really know what else to do with this I’m having a hard time generating ideas. There are a lot of random sounds that I would think wouldn’t be in everyday life but could easily be used as instruments of some sort with enough editing and effects added to them.

When I listen to these sounds, I hear things that can very easily be background noise but more like a “here is where my mind is right now” kind of way. There are certain objects moving and scrapping that I think can be softened to create a more calm and distant approach. I think I also want to see if I can move the sound around almost like bouncing but I can’t really think of a way that that would help to tell the story, I just think it would be really cool.

[Edit] As I work I come up with more ideas, but I find it difficult to portray some of that with sounds. In a way, I think it is far easier to use images to show rather than tell. I guess it's harder to show with sound haha but I think I’ll still try to create an environment that can make the listener feel like they are taking a journey through the day. Anyway, I’m using a lot of outdoor noises to show travel and voices and such for stopping and working. Some of that working will be interrupted by sudden noises and voices to show how easily I’m distracted.
