I found Rosa Menkman's concept and appeal of glitches as an artform to be really interesting. I have found many art pieces that use glitch affects to be strangely interesting and feel that they had added to the pieces in a way that I couldn't really define before. Menkman describes that glitch art is a matter of distorting and breaking media, creating by destroying in a way. In a word that is heavily dependent on technology, I think glitch art can be made of just about any idea and/or concept and it can be believable that a glitch can naturally occur.
Some glitches are naturally occurring phenomenon's that happen without intention. I think if a glitch is purposely made, it may take away from the idea of something naturally breaking itself. If this idea isn't considered too heavily, distorting art in this way does enhance a piece's intention (and also looks really cool let's be honest). I think the closest way to achieve a "naturally" occuring glitch is move code around (very similar to what we did with pixel sorting and text edit). The code could still be there but is moved (which is what happens in some naturally occurring glitches).
I think the concluding of embracing the unknown chaos that comes from glitches is a great idea--as it allows new ideas to surface. I think it's really fun to break code and not know what can happen to it. There are some idea of what can become of a piece of media but it's still chaotic.
